How to use Line Command in AutoCAD 2023?

By | April 24, 2023

To use the Line command in AutoCAD 2023, follow these steps:

  1. Launch AutoCAD 2023 and open a new or existing drawing file.
  2. Choose “Home” tab on the Ribbon, and find the “Draw” panel. Click the “Line” icon. Alternatively, you can type “LINE” or “L” in the command line and press Enter to activate the Line command.
  3. You will be prompted to specify the start point of the line. You can click anywhere in the drawing area or enter the X, Y, and Z coordinates in the command line. For instance, type “0,0,0” and press Enter to specify the origin as the starting point.
  4. Next, AutoCAD will ask you to specify the next point or the end point of the line. You can click somewhere else in the drawing area or enter the X, Y, and Z coordinates of the second point, followed by Enter.
  5. Once the second point is specified, you can continue clicking or entering coordinates to create additional line segments connected to the previous end point.
  6. When you want to finish drawing your line or series of connected line segments, press “Enter” or “Esc” key or right-click and choose “Enter” from the context menu. This will end the line drawing process and exit the Line command.

Note:

Remember that you can use the “Undo” option or press “Ctrl+Z” to undo any mistakes while drawing.

For more advanced usage, use the “Ortho” mode (F8) to draw horizontally or vertically straight lines, and “Polar Tracking” (F10) to draw lines at specific angles.
